Mobile games are big business. According to the folks over at Business of Apps, it was one of the strongest performing industries in 2020, generating an astonishing $77.2 billion in revenue over the course of a pandemic-stricken year. Additionally, in the United States, there were more than 147 million mobile gamers in 2020 alone, with approximately 10 million gamers expected to join the party over the next five years.

One of the more remarkable trends to watch in mobile gaming is the entry of popular brands and titles that aren’t traditionally associated with the mobile app landscape. Take Mattel163's UNO!™, for instance. Looking to capitalize on one of the most popular card games in the United States, Mattel’s first foray into mobile games has been a resounding success, generating 9,424,533 downloads over the last 30 days.
In the same vein, King’s Crash Bandicoot: On the Run!, which boasts one of the most iconic names in gaming, was released on March 23, 2021 and is currently rocketing up global charts. While it hasn’t cracked the top ten in the United States yet, it’s on pace to do so in short order. Just like UNO!™, Crash Bandicoot: On the Run! demonstrates the value of a good reputation.

Indeed, while the iOS version of UNO!™ walloped second-ranked DOP 2: Delete One Part by 4,208171 downloads, the top two Android apps (Water Sort Puzzle - Color Sorting Game and Foot Clinic - ASMR Feet Care) are separated by a mere 384,933 downloads.
Moreover, nine of the top ten Android games in the United States have been downloaded between two and three million times. Top ranked Water Sort Puzzle - Color Sorting Game is the lone Android game to surpass three million US downloads.
